Provincial Nominee Program

A Canadian Province has nominated a candidate because they have a desire immigrate to Canada and settle in a certain province in Canada.

Provincial nomination is an important fast-track option for Canadian permanent residence.

The Federal Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) allows Canadian provinces and territories nominate individual immigration candidates, who wish to immigrate to Canada, and wish to make their new home in a particular Canadian province or territory.

With the exception of Quebec (who’s immigration selection system differs from the rest of Canada, and two territories) each has their own individual exclusive Provincial Nominee Programs. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) signs agreements with each associating province and territory, which permits the province or territory to choose the immigrant candidates who have achieved the requirements set by the province or territory.

With the assistance of the Provincial Nominee Programs, Provinces and Territories have been able to more adequately and completely introduce and welcome these candidates to their new homes. Each Provincial Nominee Program includes all agreed upon requirements for the candidates nominated, to settle into everyday life in the province or territory and to interact successfully within the community

The Federal Express Entry Immigration Selection System has incorporated at least one immigration stream, aligned with the Provincial Nominee Programs, since 2015. These immigration streams are known as “enhanced nominations”.

A candidate nominee must first receive a Provincial Nomination Certificate from a province or territory, prior to submitting an application to immigrate to Canada. After being awarded a successful nomination by a Province or Territory, a separate application is required for submission to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for your Canada Immigration Permanent Resident Visa. PNP application processing times often vary from one Canada Immigration Visa Office to another.

QUEBEC SELECTION CERTIFICATE

The province of Quebec does not contribute to nor do they nominate candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Alternatively, the Federal Government of Canada, in conjunction with the Provincial Government of Quebec are partnered in a series of agreements where Quebec has laid down its own collection of candidate requirements for all economic immigrants with an intent to reside in Quebec.

If you intend to visit, study, work, or immigrate to Canada.
